Shri Krishna and Mayur paakhi are inseparable…….Many believe that It is a symbol of Nishkam Baav Bhakti and so resides in the mukut of Shri Krishna. Once during their vanvaas Shri Ram n Sita were walking in the forest and Sita maa felt thirsty. The Mor nearby overheard n offered to help saying there is a lake nearby I will walk with you n show you. As peacocks can’t walk a long stretch continuously, by the time they reached the lake and Sita maa quenched her thirst, the Mor was completely exhausted. Seeing the selfless Bhakti of the Mor towards them, Shri Ram who had the Samarthya of creating a lake himself there n then, not only let the Mor offer his Bhakti but also granted him the honour saying….”in my next PurnaPurushottam Swaroop I will adorn your Pankh on my Mastak…”
